A Nigerian Teacher Discovers a New Way To Teach Vowels Using Emojis

In a Facebook post today, a Nigerian teacher shares five emoji representing the 5 letters of the English vowels. According to her, it is a discovery and she actually listed them. Her post was picked up by teachers’ groups on Facebook named teacher’s life matter and Nigerian teachers. The post has gathered overwhelming engagements.  Within 12 hours the post has gotten over 915 likes  & reactions, 342 comments, and 26 shares.

In the branch of linguistics called phonetics, vowels and consonants are the two different categories of sounds that linguists use to explain how speech sounds work. To communicate effectively you need to know how to combine these sounds and pronounce things correctly.
